February Freeze
is in the Air again
Plans are now being made for the Eastern Shore of Virginia
Habitat for Humanity’s 10th February Freeze. Last
year people and dogs competed to earn the most in sponsor
dollars to support the ministry of eliminating substandard
housing on the Eastern Shore. On Saturday, February 18,
2006 you will have the opportunity to join in this year’s
event. For nine years, the students and faculty of Northampton
High School have won the coveted Golden Hammer Award
by gathering the most sponsor dollars. This year, they
are issuing a challenge to other teams to compete for
the prize. There will be a trophy for the first place
team, as well as their name engraved on the Golden Hammer
Award. There will also be prizes for first, second and
third place individuals earning the most money, as well
as costume prizes.
Please join us at the
beachfront in Cape Charles to take a dip, or to cheer
on your favorite “dipper”.
Registration will begin at 11 AM and the dip at Noon.
Lunch will be served immediately following at Trinity
United Methodist Church. There will be entertainment
and door prizes. Lunch will be sold at $5, for non- dippers.
